A few updates...

I know it's been so long since I have updated this thing, total slacker I know! But here are a few things that have been going on.

  • Not long after KateLyns Birthday she was walking like a pro. And now she's practically running. Which is a fun step but at the same time now she wants to be miss independent. Not that fun!

  • Nick had a softball related injury. He broke his middle and ring finger on his right hand catching a ball in the outfield. And the bone was poking out through his fingernail. So gross! The funny thing is he didn't even realize he had done it at the time he just kept playing until the next play when the ball came to him. He caught it and when he went to throw the ball in it went all crazy and was covered in blood. After a lot of bandages and a visit to a plastic surgeon he's all healed up and playing again.

  • Katelyn and I got in a car accident and wrecked my car. Every one was fine. The car next to me just decided not to look and came into my lane the only problem was that I was already there and they smashed the passenger side door and the whole side of my car. The sheriff was called and so many insurance calls followed. Lame. But all better now.

  • Forever, it seems like, Katelyn has had fangs for teeth on the top of her mouth. She has been my tiny vampire baby. My little Renesme. Anyone? Anyone? Just kidding, But now she's finally got her two front teeth through. No more vampire baby yeah!

  • For anyone who doesn't know my sister Jess is having a baby boy and she's scheduled to be due on July 13th! So so exciting! Her neighbors had a baby and shower for her last week since she has taken a 6 year break (that's right Syd's 6!) and is now having her first baby boy. My mom, the kids and I went down and had a sleep over for the occasion. It was super fun. They threw a great party I even busted out my crafty side and made her a diaper cake it totally reeked of effort jess would say. But I thought it turned out cute! The next day we went to the dinosaur museum and played at the park. Super fun!

  • While at Jessica's house I found out Aiden is very allergic to cats. His eyes totally swelled up the night we got there and I couldn't figure out why. He was fine the next morning but before we left for the museum they were a little swelled again. I had the thought it might be the cat so when we got back to the house to gather our things I told Aiden to go play with the cat to see if that was what was really causing the problem. By the time we got in the car he was totally swollen. Kinda crappy because I was panning on getting him a kitty this week! I guess that changed that plan. Oh well nothing a little Benadryl can't help.

So there you go. That's what we've been up to in a nutshell. I'll try and work on not being such a slacker in the future. But no promises!

Yellowstone....

We took the family to Yellowstone last week. It was really fun. We took the trailer and stayed in West Yellowstone for a few days. It was really kinda nice for it to be just us. We haven't been with just us since we got the trailer. We met up with the Daniels one day to go into the park. I have never seen so many animals there in my life! Tons of buffalo and elk like always but we saw a huge grizzly bear, a black bear with 2 baby bears climbing down this huge tree, a moose, and a few coyotes just off the road it was seriously so cool.
This pic was at Yellowstone canyon and my stomach was doing flips the whole time. Honestly every time Aiden even got near the edge. Especially one time when he was throwing a rock or something over the edge and his whole upper body went over the rock that was stopping him from plummeting to his death. It was so not cool!

These two are a crazy pair when you get them together. You wouldn't know it to look at her but she's a whole year older than Aiden. Crazy. They are so cute together though they were holding hands everywhere we went.

Hilarious! The second I took this pic I told Nick it was going straight on the blog. I have a pic just like this from his mission.

When we got to West Aiden thought these Buffalo's were so cool everywhere we went but he wanted to see a real one so bad. When I told him to go stand by it for a picture he immediately stood by the end and put his hand right on it's butt! So funny.

When we were in West we went to the Bear and Wolf center right by the entrance of the Park. We were so close to these bears it was cool.

KateLyn totally got into it she was pointing at all the animals and wanted you to look too. It was so cute. Now that I look at my pics I can't believe I didn't get a picture of the giant wolves they had there I did video tape them though. While we were checking them out Katelyn made a squawk and this huge wolf looked over and her from across the pond and he came straight over to us and got about 3 feet away and was pacing back and forth and would not take his eyes off her, He wanted a Katelyn sandwich! It was crazy! And kinda freaking me out because all that was separating us was a three foot platform and an electric fence! Needless to say we got out of there.
Over all it was a super fun family trip. I hope the first of many!

The big ONE....

KateLyn is ONE and I cannot believe it. It has gone by way to fast. I swear just a few months ago I was bringing her home from the hospital. She's so adorable and I just love her to pieces. She's such a blessing and a joy in our lives! We had such a good time for her birthday. We had some family over for cake and to celebrate with us. KateLyn just loved all the attention it was like she knew everyone was there just for her it was so funny.
Her cake was so cute, it was shaped like a purse and made out of cupcakes, I loved it and so did she.
She started off just touching the frosting with her fingers....Then a little more....and this is what we ended up with. What a cutie, we sure love this girl.
Happy Birthday KateLyn we love you so much!

The happiest place on earth...

We went on an awesome family vacation to California last week and it was so so much fun! We dragged my Mom and Dad along with us even though it was their 2nd trip to Disneyland in 6 months. We are so glad they came we had such a blast!
The first day we got there we headed straight for the beach. Aiden thought it was so cool. Mostly the sand part, the water was freezing and it attacked him one time. I had to jump in and save him and after that he didn't trust it. My dad buried him and when he jumped up to get out his mouth was wide open......and you can see what happened. He did not think it was ok.

Sunday we rested and had dinner at my Aunt Joan's then on Mon....
We finally made it to DISNEYLAND!
Aiden has been asking about Disneyland for months. Every time we would get ready to leave the house he would ask if we were going to Disneyland. It absolutely lived up to the hype.

He could not wait to meet Mickey and Minnie so of coarse we had to go to their houses.
Outside of Minnies house is a wishing well and you can hear her voice. Aiden leaned over and said something and when I asked him what he wished for he said, "I wished I could meet Mickey." How sweet is that?

Katelyn had a great time too. She is such a good girl she never cried, and just chilled the whole time. I was surprised at how many rides she could go on.

We honestly had the best time. I was a little worried before we went that Aiden would be a little bit too young to really get it but I was so wrong! He was even big enough to go on almost all the rides. Believe it or not but Space Mountain was his favorite ride and we had to go on several times. I have such a dare devil on my hands. He even went on the Tower of Terror at first he said he wanted to go again but then decided that it was too scary for boys. Well, we are glad to be home and rested and can't wait until KateLyn gets a little bit older and we can go again.
Until next time Disneyland, we'll miss you.

Easter and such...

A few days before Easter I bought an egg coloring kit and Aiden was so excited, he kept asking if we could play the egg game. It was the first year we ever really colored eggs at out house and it was so fun! As you can see he totally loved it, he wanted to keep coloring but we ran out of eggs!

Easter morning was fun with both the kids, KateLyn just wanted to tear everything apart, pull all the fake paper grass out of her basket and throw it all over the floor.

How cute does KateLyn look with her Daddy, do you all see where she gets those blue eyes from?
We all got ready for church and I tried to get some cute pics of the kids but they were not really cooperating. The sun was in their eyes at first and it was down hill from there. This is the best one. They seriously did look so stinkin cute.

I love this sweet pose.

Aiden got a kite in his basket this year and we flew it the other day it was way fun he totally gets it and was having a blast!

Hope everyone else had a great Easter too!
