So here's the story....

Last night we were hanging out at the house, nick had been home from work for awhile. We already ate, and had some Christmas show on the tv. Nick decided to get in the shower. I needed to ask him something so I went back in our bathroom with Katelyn and was talking to him meanwhile Aiden was still watching the show in the living room. Normal for any night of the week at our house. All the sudden Aiden comes into the bathroom and says "Mom there's a guy in our house." And I was like, "What?!" So he said it again. And I immediately got up to see what the heck he was talking about. All the lights were off in the front room and kitchen except for the tree was lit. I come walking out of the hall looking all around, and I glance toward the door and I see a man standing in the dark in front of the closed front door in a large camo jacket, with black beanie. I jumped so freakin' high! And was seriously about to scream when I realized who it was. Our home teacher from down the road. Seriously, it freaked me the heck out! He starts apologizing and so do I as my heart rate slows back down and I catch my breath. He tells me what happened. Apparently Aiden had answered the door when he rang, and told the strange man to come into our house and look at his Christmas tree and presents! I totally didn't hear anything because of the running water in the bathroom! He just came over to give us a Christmas gift and I almost had a dang heart attack! I guess that's what I get for having Aiden help me answer the door. Now he thinks he can do it all by himself!

P.S. Dearest Nicholas love of my life,
Happy anniversary, happy anniversary, happy anniversary, HAAAAAAAPPY anniversary! It's been the best 5 years of my life and I mean it! Love you!

Our morning...

Woke up and looked outside to see.......Snow!!!
Aiden was so psyched! He ran outside once he was all dressed and grabbed a big hand full......and immediately started eating it. That's my boy!

We also made a mini snowman, that was super fun. I asked Aiden what the snowman's name was and he said, "Nothing, it's just a snowman."

Then the sun came out and started melting all the wonderful snow, Aiden was sad so we had to come in the house, have some hot chocolate, and watch Wall-e. Just in time for Katelyn to wake up from her nap. All is well.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Have you all met Rudolf the red nosed Aiden? He has a very red and scabbed over nose. And if you ever saw him you would even say it was gross. Some how He got a rug burn on just the tip of his nose and he looks kinda silly.
This is Aidens very own special tree that he gets in his room. He picked out all the decorations at the store and he put almost all of them on the tree all by himself.

We put our tree up a while ago to get into the season and out of the Halloween fest that had taken over our home! It was so funny while I was separating the branches Aiden and katelyn both decided that they would do it too! What good little helpers I have! The finished product.

Merry Christmas!

Just a boy and his bike....

Aiden got this bike for his 3rd birthday and he has gotten really good at riding it. He had a little trouble with the turning part at first. But now he's a pro. Notice the horn, G'ma Pete gave that to his because she knew he was getting the bike and when he was opening his presents all he wanted was that horn! I swear he was more excited about it that the actual bike itself! What a strange kid.

People let me tell you 'bout my best friend.....

Aiden and KateLyn are the very best of friends and I could not be happier about the situation! I seriously hope it lasts forever! I was slightly nervous when I was preggers with baby girl that they wouldn't really get along. Like maybe Aiden would be jealous or would try and sit on her, etc. I had nothing to worry about, well except maybe occasionally he will love her a little to much. You know what I mean? He simply loves her and loves to play with her. He thinks it's hilarious to scare her (play peek a boo) He mostly just says boo to her loudly and she just laughs and laughs. Honestly no one and I mean no one can make her laugh as hard and as long as he can. She seems to think he's kinda awesome too.
No matter what we are doing Aiden always wants to help me do stuff with her, feed her, get diapers for her and he's obsessed with giving her her binky. He also has to give her a million hugs and kisses every single day. The other day I was in her room putting all the clothes away that no longer fit her and they were playing in there with me. I left the room for a sec and came back to this...

They were just reaching out for each other and laughing and playing so cute all on their own.
If you can't tell he reached over to give her a kiss. My heart just melted to see how stinkin cute they are together.
I sure love these two and I hope that they can stay best friends forever. My brother was my best friend and I felt like the luckiest person ever to have my big brother as someone I always wanted to hang out with, laugh with , and someone I could tell anything to. KateLyn would be a very lucky girl if it happened to work out the same for her as it did for me.

Very own pets....

That's right, I said pets plural. As in 7 to be exact. And they are all Aidens. But before you start to think, What? This lady is nuts giving her 3 year old a pet! Let alone 7, just know that they are fish. Guppies actually. And Aiden in ecstatic!
We helped Patti clean out Prestons big fish tank last night. Aiden has always been so in love with those fish so we decided to let him have several of the guppies in the tank. He loves them so much. He wanted to feed them and read them a bed time story last night before he went to bed. It is so sweet! I asked them what their names were and he though for a minute and said " Nemo!" I asked him what the other fish's names were and he thought again and said "Carl. These ones are Nemo and these ones are Carl!" Where the heck did Carl come from? I have no idea. What a funny little kid.

This morning when he got up the first thing he said was "Mom, where are my pets?" And he has literally been staring at the bowl watching them swim all day!

Look at that face. Like I said, ecstatic.

Happy half birthday

I can not believe that by baby girl is half a year old! That just seems crazy to think about. I took her to the doctor today and surprise surprise she's in the 90th percentile for height weight and head. At least she's in perportion with herself! The thing that is funny to me is that she is our petite child, Aiden was absolutely huge! He was completely off the charts until he was like 2. Anyways, I just love love love this girl. She truely is everything I could ever ask for. I feel so blessed to have her sweet spirit in our home. I love you to bits sunshine!

little miss KateLyn

I am the kind of girl that thinks that pictures can say more than words at times. I think this is one of those times. Let me just say that these pictures were taken in a matter of less than one minute. I was laughing so hard as I took them and even more when I saw them afterward. What do YOU think?

She thought she was funny too!

Where to begin...

I honestly have no idea where to start. We have had a lot of things going on lately that I thought about blogging but didn't really feel up to it. Mostly because I couldn't think of how to begin talking about our everyday stuff when we feel that there is still such a void in our lives. It's like there is a presence that feels like it should still be here but isn't. But I guess we'll always feel that way.
I still don't know exactly what to say so i guess I'll just start with Halloween and maybe catch the rest up next time....

Aiden couldn't have been more excited for this day to come! He picked out his Batman costume all by himself and tried it on almost everyday until Halloween. I was so fun with him this year. Last year he got it but it took awhile. This year he couldn't wait for the day to come. After each house we trick or treated he would get so excited and squeal "Let's do another house!" Hilarious.

My favorite part was this awesome "Batman face." If you will notice he's also showing me his killer guns (muscles.) Although he must have thought he was being a little too intimidating for me because after a minute he said.......

"It's just me Aiden!"
Man I love this kid.

KateLyn, as you can already see, was an adorable kitten. Which totally works because I call her that all the time anyways and it went well with Aiden's Batman costume. I even got super creative and made that headband myself! I know it's not that awesome but I'm proud anyway!

My baby girl is getting so so BIG! Too big if you ask me. A few weeks ago when Nick left for a hunting trip she decided that she could sit up all by herself. She's also grabbing and reaching for everything! And almost immediately sticking whatever she can grab in her mouth. Lovely. She is still my angel though. I can not believe how patient and clam she is all the time. Honestly. She hardly ever cries when she gets mad or wants something she just sort of yells, it's hilarious.

We went to Tremonton for a little Halloween party at the Wilsons and all the kids, and the grown ups had a super fun time. They all looked so cute in their costumes. We ate dinner and then went trick or treating for awhile. They all got loads of candy and then we came home to a pinata! Is was a blast.

They each took a turn....

And then Josh busted that thing open with one swing!

It was a very fun Halloween, Aiden is still talking about it everyday! Can't wait until next year.

Preston Dee Wilson

Preston Dee Wilson
October 7, 1960 - October 6, 2008
Preston Dee Wilson, age 47, Tremonton, UT, passed away unexpectedly October 6, 2008 as a result of a heart attack. He was born October 7, 1960 in Price, UT to Bryce J Wilson and Ruby Luane Esplin. He married Patricia Lynn Petersen June 16, 1978. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple June 16, 1979.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a dedicated provider. He had a quick sense of humor and a love for others that drew people to him. He loved the gospel with all his heart and it was evident in his life. From his early youth, he faithfully served in many church callings, and was a member of the High Council in the Tremonton South Stake at the time of his parting.
He enjoyed hunting with his sons, boating, fishing, four-wheeling with his grandchildren and raising guppies, chickens, sheep and calves. He loved life and lived it to the fullest but he loved nothing more than spending time with Patti, the love of his life and eternal companion.
He is survived by his wife, Patti; parents Bryce and Luane; children Tricia (Clint) Payne, Courtney (Jill) Wilson, Nicholas (Shayna) Wilson, Mallorie (TaRell) McMurdie; brothers Layne, Evan, Joel, Chris and sister Elise; and grandchildren Josh, Emma, Brady, Olivia, Aiden, KateLyn, and Molly. His optimism and quiet confidence will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11am in the Tremonton South Stake Center. Friends and family may call Friday October 10, 2008 from 6-8pm and again Saturday October 11, 2008 from 9:30-10:30am, both at the Tremonton South Stake Center.

What greater gift dost thou bestow,
What greater goodness can we know
Than Christ-like friends, whose gentle ways
Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.

When such a friend from us departs,
We hold forever in our hearts
A sweet and hallowed memory,
Bringing us nearer, Lord to thee.

Preston was an amazing father, father-in law, grandpa and husband. We love him with all our hearts and miss him everyday. He was such a great example to all of us. We now have a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. I don't think that anyone can ever get over something like this, we can only try to get through it. The only peace we feel comes from the knowledge of the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ that families can be together forever and that we can be with him again someday.
